Purpose

The Hockey Association for the Developmentally Challenged (HADC) was established in 1995. We are a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide developmentally challenged individuals with opportunities to play hockey in a structured program and learning environment. Our home arena is the Gord and Irene Risk Community Centre Arena located at 2650 Finch Ave. West in North York (Toronto), Ontario. We are a federally registered charitable organization (No. 1096890-09). Our team name is the North York Gladiators.

Philosophy

Hockey is a game. Games are meant to be fun. The HADC believes that all children have the right to enjoy life to the fullest. Hockey provides that opportunity. By putting the fun back in fundamentals our participants will experience the meaning of sportsmanship, develop skills of co-ordination, enhance their self-discipline and enjoy the camaraderie that sport can bring.

Fair play, co-operation and good sportsmanship will go hand in hand with the strength, co-ordination and endurance that the participants will develop.
